1/3/2024 0 Comments Hoka one one clifton 6 womensInstead of road feel, you get massive amounts of foot protection and shock absorption. With such large stack heights, there is very little road feel in both shoes. The Clifton has a heel stack height of 36mm and forefoot stack height of 31mm. The Bondi has a heel stack height of 39mm and a forefoot stack height of 35mm. The Bondi also has an EVA compression midsole but is even thicker than that of the Clifton. It gives you some responsiveness with plenty of deep cushioning without any bottoming-out flatness. The Clifton has a Metarocker which smoothes the heel-to-toe transitions and the midsole of the Clifton feels soft in the forefoot and heel but doesn’t feel mushy. I also have the Altra Lone Peak 4 but I’m still not sure if a zero drop is my thing. The Clifton has an oversized EVA compression midsole with a thick stack height. I started running about 5 years ago and the pain started with increasing mileage. Brooks Defyance 9 (road) > this is the only shoe in this list bought in a shop and the first one I bought after experiencing forefoot pain. If I have to rank my shoes it would look like this (might give you a better insight)Ĥ. *I discovered LaSportiva thanks to your reviews. I ran a long time with forefoot pain, wrong insoles… so I try to read* a lot before buying shoes but in the end the only way to find out is to run in them. When it comes to running shoes I became quite uncertain. Did you ever experience anything similar? Some say they need time to break in but I am not sure this will help if the mid section is not wide enough. I checked all my running shoes to figure out what a “midsole wall” could be and I think I found out but when putting my insoles in, this (what I think) midsole wall seems to be covered.Ĭould it be that the width of the mid section is still not wide enough (although it doesn’t feel too narrow) for my feet? I started reading reviews today on runrepeat about the Clifton 6 (that’s why I am writing you) and one runner said: “The ride is excellent, but that’s totally undone for me by the blistering caused by the high midsole walls.” I have another pair of running shoes (that stay in the closet due to) causing similar blisters: NB Hierro v3. A really plush ride but… I started to feel something pushing against my arches after a couple of miles and immediately knew this would mean blisters on my internal lateral arches. I bought them and tested them right away. I didn’t know a wide version was on the market.įirst impression: super lightweight, nice fit and lots of cushioning. Up untill yesterday I always thought Hoka is too narrow for my feet. To my surprise the shop owner suggested to try Hoka Clifton as well. The Nimbus felt stiff and may I say boring? The Glycerin was really nice! I wear insoles for my sagging transverse arch (do you say it like this in English?) and have a wider foot.Įntering the shop I had 2 shoes on my list: Nimbus 22 and Brooks Glycerin. At this price and weight, few other shoes match the Clifton 6’s cushioning and durability.ĭue to corona I ran a lot of miles on concrete the last few months and therefore bought the Clifton 6 yesterday. The Clifton 6 will be released in June 2019, with an unchanged MSRP of $130. It weighs 9 oz (255 g) for men’s size 9, and 7.4 oz (209 g) for women’s size 7, which is a reduction of 0.3 and 0.4 oz over the Clifton 4 and 5, respectively, but still more than an ounce heavier than the earliest iterations. It’s lighter and softer than the Clifton 4 and 5, but better fitting and more durable than the Clifton 1, 2, and 3. The upcoming Clifton 6 is a mix of the old and new generations. They’re less fun, but they’re more suitable for everyday use. These versions worked for more runners, because of the wider last, higher-volume interior, and more accommodating upper and the midsole was firmer and more durable. With the Clifton 4 ( my review) and similar Clifton 5 ( my review), Hoka went in a different direction. Specifically, the fit was too narrow and low-volume for most the uppers and outsole didn’t hold up and the midsole foam lacked resiliency. They were widely adored, to the degree that Hoka recently re-released the Clifton 1 for a limited time.īut v1, v2, and v3 were not flawless. The first three generations of the Hoka One One Clifton ( my review of the Clifton 2) were wonderfully plush and lightweight. The new Clifton 6 is a mix of old and new: it’s lighter and softer than recent generations, but keeps the improved fit and durability.

He made two vital mistakes, though: one, by not telling Scourge and Cyclonus about the plan, they recruited Trypticon to keep this "mystery robot" from muscling in on Decepticon turf. In his various modes, Sixshot made several terrorist strikes on the countries he was blackmailing. Using his until-then hidden ability to assume six different modes, combined with his ninja shadow powers, Sixshot would pose as a group of robots extorting energy from Earth, throwing the Autobots off-balance as he would not appear to be associated with the Decepticons. Sixshot and Galvatron came up with a plan to steal energy from the six major nations on Earth. Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime He personally guided Trypticon into battle on Earth in order to test Galvatron's Madmachine on Metroplex. The Mystery of Planet Master Sixshot was immensely powerful and soon usurped Cyclonus and Scourge as Galvatron's bestest fwend. Four Warriors Come out of the Sky When Hot Rod went to Earth, Sixshot and Soundwave were dispatched to find out why. They had their first encounter when Sixshot led Soundwave and the Triple Changers against the Autobots on Earth, trying to prevent reinforcements from reaching Cybertron. In this respect, he was something of an arch-enemy to Ultra Magnus. Sixshot debuted in 2011 with the function of "Decepticon Dinobase Ninja Commander". So the character that everyone remembers from this series isn't even a Headmaster, huh? Gotta fix that. Japanese Generation 1 cartoon continuity The Headmasters cartoon Voice actor: Michihiro Ikemizu (Japanese), Simon Broad (English, Omni Productions dub) As the Autobots evacuated off-planet, Sixshot was one of the many space-worthy Decepticons who pursued them into orbit and attacked. In the year 2001, the Decepticons had managed to conquer Cybertron completely. Converting back to robot mode to survey his handiwork, Sixshot mirthfully dismissed the brief battle as being "like shooting cyber-ducks in a barrel." The Rebirth, Part 1 Madman The Transformers comic In order, he shot down Air Raid while in tank mode, transformed to beast mode and flew up to destroy Fireflight, landed and transformed to armored car mode to shoot down Slingshot, transformed to jet mode to shoot Skydive and finally transformed into his gun mode which Cyclonus used to shoot down Silverbolt. When the Aerialbots barred the villains' way, Galvatron called upon Sixshot to take them on, and he proceeded to effortlessly use each of his five alternate modes to down the five individual members of the team. These attitudes are reflective of Sixshot's understanding of the inevitable end that waits for a warrior such as he, and the hope that when his own end eventually arrives he will be remembered in the same way. He grants due respect to any opponent he deems worthy, and always speaks well of them after he has inevitably dispatched them to, as he puts it, "the great junkyard in the sky". He is not to be mistaken for a mindless weapon, however-he is highly intelligent, and not without honor of a warped sort. Sixshot's destructive ability is the stuff of legend, a gleeful murderousness that is matched in ferocity only by the intensity with which he sets to the bloody tasks given him. As the first Transformer Six Changer, able to assume six different modes, he is officially designated as a "Solo Transformer Assault Group" (or "S.T.A.G."), but is more colloquially known among those who know and fear him as a "one-robot army". With themes of racial inequities, police brutality, racism, immigration, and feminism, the contents of the story gush with a conversation that is unfortunately still relevant 100 years later. Set in the early 1900s, this 1998 Tony Award-winning musical is based on a novel of historical fiction written in 1975. The propelling momentum of change brings strangers to collide as African Americans from Harlem, White suburbanites of New Rochelle, New York, and Eastern European Immigrants wrestle with American idealism and the haunting melodies of inevitable transformation. Theodore Roosevelt was president, Evelyn Nesbit and Harry Houdini were the stars of the century, and the music of something beginning lingered in the air. Morgan, anarchist and activist Emma Goldman, and the Ford Model T. This was the era of Black American educator Booker T. The century spun in the summer heat with women in white and sturdy young men at the oar. “In 1902 Father built a house at the crest of the Broadway Avenue hill in New Rochelle, New York.” And thus begins the story of E.L. In the same month, The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority added Revolut to its list of companies authorized to offer cryptocurrency products and services it had offered crypto trading since 2017 but had not been regulated. In September 2022, Revolut confirmed a cyberattack exposed personal data of 50,000 of its 20m customers. In March 2022, Revolut had 18 million customers around the world and was making 150 million transactions a month. In March 2022, after Russia invaded Ukraine, Storonsky publicly opposed the war in Ukraine and Revolut donated £1.5 million to the Red Cross Ukraine appeal. In January 2022, Revolut launched as a bank (instead of an e-money institution) in 10 additional European countries: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden. In July 2021, Revolut raised US$800 million from investors, including SoftBank Group and Tiger Global Management, at a US$33 billion valuation. In March 2021, Revolut applied for a bank charter in the US via applications with the FDIC and the California Department of Financial Protection. In January 2021, the company announced that it had applied for a UK banking licence. In November 2020, Revolut became profitable. In August, the company launched its financial app in Japan. In March 2020, Revolut was launched in the United States. In February 2020, Revolut completed a funding round that more than tripled its value, valuing the company at £4.2 billion and becoming the United Kingdom's most valuable financial technology startup. In October 2019, the company announced a global deal with Visa, following which it expanded into 24 new markets and hired 3,500 additional staff. In August 2019, the company announced several hires with experience in traditional banking, including Wolfgang Bardorf, formerly executive director at Goldman Sachs and the global head of liquidity models and methodologies at Deutsche Bank, Philip Doyle, previously head of financial crime at ClearBank and fraud prevention manager at Visa, and Stefan Wille, previously senior vice-president of finance at N26 and corporate finance manager at Credit Suisse. This was subsequently made available to all users. In July 2019, Revolut launched commission-free stock trading on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq, initially for customers in its Metal plan. TechCrunch reported that he had quit following allegations of compliance lapses, however Revolut denied that he had left for these reasons. In March 2019 Revolut united with Dax, the same year the company's chief financial officer Peter O'Higgins resigned. At the same time, an Electronic Money Institution licence was also issued by the Bank of Lithuania. In December 2018, Revolut secured a Challenger bank licence from the European Central Bank, facilitated by the Bank of Lithuania, authorising it to accept deposits and offer consumer credits, but not to provide investment services. DST Global was founded by Yuri Milner, who has been backed by the Kremlin in his previous investments. It had a post-funding valuation of US$1.7 billion, making it a unicorn. On 26 April 2018, Revolut raised $250 million in Series C funding. It began offering cryptocurrency services in 2017, beginning with crypto trading. The company was originally based in Level39, a financial technology incubator in Canary Wharf, London. Revolut was founded on 1 July 2015 by Nikolay Storonsky from Russia and Vlad Yatsenko from Ukraine. Since Revolut does not have UK bank status, it does not reimburse victims of authorized push payment fraud in that country, and the £85,000 protection of funds deposited in a bank by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme is not available for e-money. A US$800 million funding round in July 2021 brought the company's valuation to US$33 billion, making it the most valuable UK tech startup at the time. In January 2021 Revolut applied for a UK banking licence, but as of December 2022 the outcome was still awaited. In November 2020 it was breaking even and, with a £4.2 billion valuation became the UK's most valuable fintech company. In 2020 Revolut expanded into Japan and the US and expanded its staff from 1,500 to 6,000. It offers accounts featuring currency exchange, debit cards, virtual cards, Apple Pay, interest-bearing "vaults", stock trading, crypto, commodities, and other services. Headquartered in London, it was founded in 2015 by Nikolay Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko. Revolut Bank UAB is licensed and regulated by the Bank of Lithuania within the European Union. Revolut is a global neobank and financial technology company that offers banking services. People around the world called on the child’s mother to be charged with negligence and on the zoo to be punished for inadequate fencing, blaming both for failing to prevent the situation that led to Harambe’s death. The outrage that swiftly followed was extensive. Fearing a tranquilizer dart would take too long to take effect and aggravate 440-pound Harambe, further endangering the child, the zoo’s Dangerous Animal Response Team trained a sniper rifle on Harambe and shot him in the head, killing him. In the ten minutes that followed-Harambe’s last-he dragged the boy through the exhibit’s moat, stood him up, sat him down, and examined his clothes, his agitation increasing with the screams of the crowd. When zookeepers called to the three gorillas in the exhibit, hoping to bring them inside, Harambe’s companions Chewie and Mara complied, but Harambe chose to investigate the boy. When asked if she could think of a comparable meme that so transcended its real-life origin, Burgess replied, "A real-world event that had serious news value, which became a cultural phenomenon that became a meme? Maybe not.On May 28, 2016, the day after his seventeenth birthday, Harambe, a western lowland gorilla, was shot and killed at the Cincinnati Zoo after a little boy fell into the gorilla enclosure. Even among such platforms, Harambe is a unique beast. In Burgess's taxonomy of memes, Harambe is a "platform," a joke with endless permutations, like rage comics or image macros (think pictures of LOLcats or the toddler fist-pumping on the beach). "Teens love edgy, slightly unacceptable humor." (And then we get actor Danny Trejo growling, " out for Harambe.") "Harambe! as an exclamation is popular among teens," Burgess said. #Harambe is the joy of finding ridiculousness in buttoned-up earnestness. Plus, the best Harambe jokes are not, in and of themselves, offensive: Memorializing Harambe as a Pokémon is silly, but unlikely to prompt outrage. On the other hand, in most circles a celebrity gorilla jest is a safer bet than one about a celebrity human. The corporate touch will never make Harambe lame. Cracks at the expense of dead animals are too dark for brands to sensibly co-opt, as a smart New York Magazine piece argued in July. Jokes about Harambe's death walk a special line. Harambe's many aspects - as diverse as gorilla conservation and parenting - provided plenty of fuel. The Dress provoked few substantial reactions to mock. Harambe now belonged to all of us, but he belonged to the Internet's dank corners and edgy teens most of all. Months after the gorilla was killed, he was resurrected by the Internet. Primatologist Jane Goodall called it a "devastating loss to the zoo, and to the gorillas."īut the great ape's tale did not end with the usual news-outrage cycle. The western lowland gorilla, Harambe, died. Fearing for the child's life, a zoo employee shot the ape. The gorilla dragged the 3-year-old boy through the exhibit by his ankles. You probably know how the rest of the story goes: The boy survived the tumble only to be snatched by a 17-year-old male gorilla. Harambe, a western lowland gorilla, was fatally shot May 28 to protect a 4-year-old boy who had entered his enclosure.Īt the very end of May, a young boy climbed the fence that surrounds the Cincinnati Zoo's gorilla enclosure. 1/3/2024 0 Comments Anti gravity algodoo tutorialWith constraints and motors, impacts, contacts and dry friction, as well as incompressible fluids and visco-elasto-plastic materials.įor constraint stabilization and regularization, we use a method called SPOOK, developed byĬlaude Lacoursière in his PhD thesis, Ghosts and machines: regularized variational methods for interactive simulations of multibodies with dry frictional contacts, Dept. The entire structure then consists of this unit cell repeating in three dimensions, as illustrated in Figure 1.įigure 6. The unit cell consists of lattice points that represent the locations of atoms or ions. The structure of a crystalline solid, whether a metal or not, is best described by considering its simplest repeating unit, which is referred to as its unit cell. We will explore the similarities and differences of four of the most common metal crystal geometries in the sections that follow. The different properties of one metal compared to another partially depend on the sizes of their atoms and the specifics of their spatial arrangements. Some of the properties of metals in general, such as their malleability and ductility, are largely due to having identical atoms arranged in a regular pattern. A pure metal is a crystalline solid with metal atoms packed closely together in a repeating pattern. We will begin our discussion of crystalline solids by considering elemental metals, which are relatively simple because each contains only one type of atom. In this module, we will explore some of the details about the structures of metallic and ionic crystalline solids, and learn how these structures are determined experimentally. The regular arrangement at an atomic level is often reflected at a macroscopic level. Most solids form with a regular arrangement of their particles because the overall attractive interactions between particles are maximized, and the total intermolecular energy is minimized, when the particles pack in the most efficient manner. Over 90% of naturally occurring and man-made solids are crystalline.
